I came across a quote once by Maya Angelou that has stuck with me ever since: "Every storm runs out of rain." It’s simple, but it hits you in the gut, doesn’t it? Life, in all its chaos and unpredictability, can feel like a never-ending storm at times. There are moments when it feels like the downpour will never stop. But, as Maya so beautifully reminds us, eventually, the rain does end, and the clouds part.
Right now, I find myself in a place I’ve never been before—a journey I never anticipated but somehow found myself on. It’s tough, and there are days when I want to throw in the towel, hit pause, and just breathe. But every day, even in the storm, I’m discovering how strong I am and how much stronger I’m becoming.
I think that’s the beauty of life’s challenges, even if they don’t feel like it at the time. You go through it, step by step, sometimes stumbling, sometimes crying, but when you look back, you realize just how much you’ve grown. The storm may have made you feel weak, but it’s actually been the very thing that’s made you stronger.
I know many of us are going through our own storms, each of us carrying our own struggles. Whether it’s the weight of responsibilities, heartache, or just trying to keep it all together, life can sometimes feel overwhelming. But here’s what I’ve learned: we can make it through. We are resilient. And if we can get through today, we’ll get through tomorrow too.
I guess the key is to remember that storms don’t last forever, no matter how hard they seem right now. The sun will eventually shine through. Sometimes, the storm clears away the things we didn’t realize were holding us back. Maybe it’s clearing the way for something better, or maybe it’s just showing us that we’ve got what it takes to weather whatever comes our way.
So, if you’re in the middle of your own storm, I’m with you. I know it’s hard, and I know it feels endless. But hold on. The rain will stop. And when it does, you’ll look back and realize you came out of it stronger than you ever imagined. And just maybe, you’ll look up at that sky and smile, knowing that you’re still standing.
In the end, every storm runs out of rain, but it’s in the process that we find out just how much we’re capable of.
